Who are your Major Musical Influences and Why? Billy Joe Armstrong (Greenday) they were my favorite band when I first started playing and singing, and he was the front-man I admired most. More recently, Elton John, Billy Joel, Maynard James Keenan (A Perfect Circle TOOL) and Bono. They seem to have very distinct and likable vocal characteristics and a way of connecting to people.

What is the BEST Concert you ever saw and Why?
Elton John and Billy Joel - Back 2 Back. This was an incredible show for a number of reasons. For starters they are both musical legends and have seen it all. Believe it or not I bore easily at concerts but I was locked-into this show and was so interested with the way they performed. They performed the music just great and each song seems to captivate with its sound and history.

If you could meet a Musical Hero, who would you meet and what would you want to talk to him/her about?
Bono - Over the years he has put himself out on stage for people to witness and done a wonderful job with creating images and ideas to spark interest and imagination. He is a wonderful musician. He sings with passion and people understand that. I would like to talk to him about how he likes to sing and how his vocal system feels as he sings certain ways. I would pick his brain about what he thinks/has thought about on stage, what keeps him going, and how he manages being in U2 and having a family. I would tell him that his music captured my spirits when I was a youngster listening to my sisters' CD, in the car on a family vacation.

Music is:
Hard to define. Music is sound (+ or - words) composed in a manner that has the ability to convey emotions and thoughts. Music is something you don't need anything to understand other than a set of working ears. Music is expression in sound. It is a vehicle of feelings.

What is it about Music that you love, that moves you, etc.?
I love music's ability to create a mood, to persuade your thoughts in the direction of the music. Music is sexy and sharp. It is a very convincing way to get your intentions across to an audience. It is a real thrill to perform and move people. To get up and allow yourself to be vulnerable to others' judgment and have them accept and enjoy the sounds that come out of your mouth. It's like some kind of mutant ability : ) Music has the means to take you to places of memory, each time you hear a song you are joined again by that feeling you have for the song or what it means to you... what you were doing in life when you heard it in times before.

What do you want The Click to achieve?
I want The Click to be the biggest new band in the world. I don't want to stare at a wall trying to create the most offbeat or unpredictable music, rather I want The Click to broadcast to people in a very understandable and exciting way. I want to get out to millions of people and make them go crazy just as my musical interests have done for others in the past. I want to give somebody else the thrill and excitement from the stage and records that others have given me. I also want The Click to be a band that carries ourselves with dignity. Not a self loathing or malicious act; I want to be fresh and fun.

When you're not playing music, you like to:
Go to beaches, work out, cook, go on dates to crazy places, play on my computer, do production work, practice my stick-flipping skills.

Who are your Major Musical Influences and Why?
Jimmy Eat World - They are masters of using simplistic parts layered on top of each other to create masterpieces. Their CD "Clarity" is probably my all-time favorite CD!
Any Salsa band - The percussion and piano montunos are crazy!

The Beatles - because they've pretty much influenced any band I've ever liked!

Silverchair - Daniel Johns is a very creative songwriter, and Diorama is probably second place to Jimmy Eat World's "Clarity" in my book.

Any Hip-Hop - a good beat can instantly get me going.

What is the BEST Concert you ever saw and Why?
I can't narrow it down to one sorry, but here are my top three!

Silverchair at the Bowery Ballroom 2003. This show was amazing...it was a huge international band playing to a small sold-out 500 person capacity club in the coolest city in the US. On my right was the guitar player from Good Charlotte, on my left was Tom from Blink-182 and in the balcony was John Norris. The sound was phenomenal, and the stage presence and visual effects were perfect!

Jimmy Buffet in '99 was awesome! Me and my best friend danced with 50 year old parrot heads all night long!

Paul McCartney 2003 in Ft. Lauderdale, FL! Absolutely amazing show! Great Band, Great Stage set-up, Great Vibe, Paul McCartney still rocks it hard!

If you could meet a Musical Hero, who would you meet and what would you want to talk to him/her about?
Miles Davis...jazz. i'd like to play a little with him too.
Kurt Coba...rock. i'd like to play a little with him also.
Bob Marley...just hang. Jimi Hendrix...rock and roll.

Music is:
In everybody. A primal language. Sexual.

What is it about Music that you love, that moves you, etc.?
It just makes your body feel good. It connects to your soul on a subconscious level. A song that is 3 minutes long can change someone's life forever! Music unites people.

What do you want The Click to achieve?
To move the world in a positive way. To be the greatest and most influential band the world has ever known.

It's an ambitious town that values education

When not playing music, you like to:
Go to the beach!
Play baseball
Write/film movies
BBQ
Ski

Major Musical Influences and Why:
Brian Wilson- His compositions are parallel with classical music in the form of a 3 minute pop song. Wilson's melodies were profound, yet still memorable. I would say that Brian Wilson's vocal harmonies and ability to write outstanding melodies have been a tremendous influence in the last two years.

Also in the last two years, I've grown attached to The Beatles writing, particularly Paul McCartney's songwriting. He wrote tremendous melodies that every generation can sing. He was very focused on the hook of a song, and very smart about the way he arranged his instrumentation around the vocals. His bass playing was melodic on it's own, and married to the vocals, proved to be a phenomenal force to shape the sound of The Beatles. I mean, who isn't influenced by them?

Beethoven, Mozart: Both influential at an early age. Both are on a level of genius that may never be touched again. I believe that their harmonic and melodic forces should not be ignored, even when writing popular music in our new millennium.

BEST Concert you ever saw and why:
Well... I wasn't at the Paul McCartney "Back in the US" show, but I saw the DVD and it blew my mind. If I WAS there, it surely would have been the best.

The Darkness: they may have much hype, but let's face it, Justiin Hawkins is a phenomenal frontman. This band is not afraid to be over the top, and I think it propels their success. Too many bands are interested in being "cool" and subdued these days. Who cares... I want to see a show... I didn't come to listen to the CD live. I want animation, and The Darkness gave me just that.

If you could meet a Musical Hero, who would you meet and what would you want to talk to him/her about?
I suppose I would like to meet Paul McCartney, not necessarily just to converse about songwriting or his musical inspirations, but to focus more on communication. I think that The Beatles were excellent communicators of emotion, thought, and energy. Pop music to me is a form of mass communication and more than an outlet for creativity and artistic vision. Pop music is meant to be "popular", therefore, it is an extroverterted psychology of deliverance of ideas through hooks, fresh collage of common phrasing, and melodies that stick. I would like to know more about The Beatles expertise of a communication that has lasted for generations.

I would love to meet
(this list go go on forever)
Abraham Lincoln
Ben Carson (neurosurgeon)
Collin Powell
George Brett
Danny Elfman
Mark Rothko
Jonny Depp
Charlize Theron

Music is:
Communication of emotion, ideas, energy, and sometimes self-expression. Sometimes music can be more intuitive and divine, whereas the creator of the music could not fully take all credit because of a higher source.

The Beatles...songwriting - best melodies, lyrics, performances, and recording techniques ever.

What is the BEST Concert you ever saw and Why?
Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers - Tweeter Center, Mansfield, 2002. I was close enough to see their facial expressions.

If you could meet a Musical Hero, who would you meet and what would you want to talk to him/her about?
Paul McCartney - I wouldn't talk, I'd just stare

What is it about Music that you love, that moves you, etc.?
