LOS ANGELES, CA Tuesday Apr.4.2006 /netmusiccountdown.com/ -- Chris Brown used to be a class clown.

But now the R&B singer has gotten serious about education.

Last week, during his sound check at the House of Blues, Brown met with some students from Blair High School in Los Angeles as part of a special event organized by the Grammy Foundation and the Recording Academy's LA chapter.

MTV.com reports that Brown took part in a question-and-answer session with the students, where the he revealed that he takes classes with a tutor for 4 hours every morning. And after Brown gets his diploma, the 16-year-old plans on getting a college education. He'll continue with his music career but he'll also take online college courses.

"Obviously I can't go to a public school, but I'm still in school as a junior," Brown said. "I want to go on to study fashion design, business development and just things that are going to help me out in my future and that deal with my career now."
