NASHVILLE, TN Monday Jul.17.2006 /netmusiccountdown.com/ -- Last week, Alan Jackson sent country radio a recorded message explaining why it's been nearly two years between studio albums, explaining that recording and releasing his Precious Memories album diverted his attention away from his regular studio album.

But now he says, "We finally got it done, Alison Krauss stepped in and we've got some great songs."

"Like Red On A Rose" is the first sample of what's to come on Alan's next album, due in stores this fall.

"'[Like] Red On a Rose' was one of the first things we cut," Alan says. "I loved it the first time I heard the demo." After recording this and a couple of other songs, Alan and Alison decided they should move ahead and work together on a complete album. They initially got together thinking they might try working on a bluegrass project of some sort...but the songs the record ended up taking them in a bit of a different direction.
