The singer and his attorney are silent as to the details of the settlement, but it was announced that the parent company of American Idol, UK-based "19-Entertainment", will begin marketing 205 Flava products.
In August, the lawsuit was filed by Studdard's attorneys, saying 205 Flava unfairly profited by using the singer's unauthorized image to sell their clothing. He had worn jerseys with 205, the area code of his hometown, Birmingham, during American Idol competitions last spring.
205 Flava's owners shot back, saying that they had secretly paid Studdard to wear their jerseys on the show, even though the program bans such deals.
Both sides, however, seem fine with the settlement. One of the owners of 205 Flava said "I think some great things will come out of it." 19 Entertainment will be able to market and license 205 Flava's shirts better than 205 Flava could.
In other Studdardmania news, the singer will, after intense research, play American Idol Winner Ruben Studdard on UPN's television show "One on One."
