DETROIT, MI Thursday Feb.26.2004 /netmusiccountdown.com/ -- Outkast's Andre 3000 is reportedly in final talks to portray James Marshall Hendrix in a biopic on the late rock legend. Andre is currently at work in "Be Cool," Elmore Leonard's sequel to "Get Shorty."

The Hendrix picture will be directed by the Hughes brothers, and will follow Jimi's rise to fame to his drug related death at the age of 27 in 1970.
