"It's tough when you're a band trying to make it in this industry and no one will listen to you," Gontier says. "When you couple that with people who aren't willing to give you a fair chance, it doesn't help much. We put a lot of work into this band to get it to this point and while I feel incredibly lucky to have this chance right now, it does become frustrating to think that people assume it just happened for us all of a sudden"
Even old friends who were there from the beginning seem to want something from the foursome, which strains relationships. Gontier says that coming home from touring can sometimes be more stressful than being on the road. "People have expectations of me," he says, "They think I can help them out in some way and that's just not true. They think that all of a sudden you can do this s*** for them... not quite. But I have no real complaints. I'm lucky."
Three Days Grace is currently on tout to support their eponymous album.
