The Associated Press reports that the studios, located about 30 minutes west of Minneapolis, are now back in business after being closed since 1996. Only Prince and some of his friends had continued recording and performing there since the closure.
Last Thursday marked the official reopening of Paisley Park. The studio's editing and recording rooms have been newly digitized and upgraded and are available to musicians to rent.
Paisley Park Studios opened its doors in 1987, and many artists have recorded, rehearsed or made videos there, including REM, Barry Manilow, George Benson and the Bee Gees.
