LOS ANGELES, CA Friday Sep.17.2004 /netmusiccountdown.com/ -- Today, September 17, is Green Day at MTV2. The band is getting ready to release their new album, "American Idiot" this Tuesday, September 21, and to celebrate, MTV2 will broadcast several shows featuring the punk powerhouse.

First, Green Day takes over MTV2's Viewer's Choice show tonight, starting at 9 pm ET. Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt and Tre Cool host the program, which features favorite Green Day videos selected by the fans.

When the Viewer's Choice show ends at 10 pm, the station will play a half-hour Green Day concert from the vaults. And as a follow up to the concert, MTV2 will repeat "Green Day Makes a Video."
