Though he didn't attend the awards, Kanye West scored the most wins. His "Jesus Walks" won Video of the Year, and the rapper was named Best Male Hip-Hop Artist.
Best Female R&B Artist went to Alicia Keys, and Usher won Best Male R&B Artist. Other winners included Remy Martin for Best Female Hip-Hop Artist, Ciara and Missy Elliott for Best Collaboration for "1, 2 Step," Omarion for Viewer's Choice, and John Legend for Best New Artist.
This year's BET Awards show was most notable for its live performances. Destiny's Child, who won Best Group, surprised everyone during "Cater 2 U" when they gave lap dances to Nelly, Magic Johnson and actor Terrence Howard. John Legend was stoked to join his idol Stevie Wonder on the classic "My Cherie Amour." And the reunited Fugees stole the show when they sang a medley of their hits.
