NASHVILLE, TN Tuesday Jul.26.2005 /netmusiccountdown.com/ -- Faith Hill was asked recently how she thinks she and her career have changed between her first album and her latest, "Fireflies."

"The thing that hasn't changed is the importance of the material and how I feel strong about that. Starting with a great song. In terms of an artist, I think I've grown by leaps and bounds. I've become much more confident in the decisions I make as an artist. And much more confident in my abilities as a singer."

MISSISSIPPI MUISCAL ROOTS RUN DEEP
Faith adds, "And I've gone back in the last few albums to those days growing up in Star, Mississippi singing in that church. I realize the impact that had on me as a vocalist, too."

"The Mississippi blues run deep in my blood, too. That's what I grew up with singing in that Baptist church, and grew singing in those black churches around the corner. I spent a lot of my teen years singing in black and Pentecostal churches and that has become the fabric of my music. I learned a lot from those moments and I think the older I get and the more I allow myself to experience music I find it's really deep inside of me and it comes out even more with each record I do."
