The "Lose Control" rapper underwent a two-and-a-half-hour surgery at a private New York City hospital. Elliott is currently home recovering, and it's expected that she'll be out of commission for anywhere between six to 12 months.
"Tearing your Achilles is no joke," Elliott said in an official statement to MTV. "I can't even tell you how much pain I'm in, but I'm happy the surgery went well, and I want to thank everyone for their concern."
Elliott was forced to cancel her guest spot at VH1's Hip Hop Honors earlier this week due to the injury, and she's also called off a London show that was set for October 10th.
Elliott injured her Achilles tendon when she was rehearsing for a performance at TV Guide's Emmy after-party.
