In an interview with MTV.com, singer Alex Kapranos said Franz Ferdinand has 14 new songs written and that the material differs from what we've heard previously from the group and includes some R&B influence.
"I've been listening to a bit of Kanye West, and I think Amerie's '1 Thing' is amazing," said Kapranos. "That's what some of the new stuff is sounding like. But of course, it's still us."
Franz Ferdinand hopes to head to the studio in January to begin recording songs for their next album.
